Getting New Granite Countertops

Not Granite Countertops In Salem NY In The Kitchen Of Craig Rose

My house was built in the 1850s. The kitchen was an afterthought. When I moved in almost 20 years ago the countertops were plywood with lovely blue contact paper adhered to them. I beefed up the plywood and added laminate after pealy off the blue. That’s the way it’s been ever since, with the exception of a new sink, fauce and a dishwasher.

Fast-forward to today, it’s time to revamp the whole thing. What that means is a couple new cabinets, a new sink and faucet and…yep – new granite countertops for Craig Rose Salem NY!

However, that’s easier said than done. Yes, the countertop company sends out what they call “templaters” who, with the use of lasers (and possibly some light sabers) figure out how to cut your granite slab so it fits my kitchen. The catch here is that the tops of the base cabinets need to be level. Remember that this kitchen was builst a long time ago, and on top of that were built in-place. So, suffice it to say, the cabinets are now level.

After measuring everything, finding a dealer to work with and chosing a stone type and color, the next step is to go to the supplyer and pick out a slab. And there it is!

Now we need to schedule the templeteers and we’re ready for that. I think there’s a one week turnaround from the time the templaters template and the time when they come out to install the new granite countertops for Crasig Rose Salem, NY.
