My house was built in the 1850s. The kitchen was an afterthought. When I moved in almost 20 years ago the countertops were plywood with lovely blue contact paper adhered to them. I beefed up the plywood and added laminate after pealy off the blue. That’s the way it’s been ever since, with the exception of a new sink, fauce and a dishwasher.

The catch here is that the tops of the base cabinets need to be level. Remember that this kitchen was builst a long time ago, and on top of that were built in-place. So, suffice it to say, the cabinets are now level.

After measuring everything, finding a dealer to work with and chosing a stone type and color, the next step is to go to the supplyer and pick out a slab. And there it is!

Now we need to schedule the templeteers and we’re ready for that. I think there’s a one week turnaround from the time the templaters template and the time when they come out to install the new granite countertops for Crasig Rose Salem, NY.
